Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with a deep background in blockchain development, particularly in the Ethereum ecosystem and Web3 technologies. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps). Your work will directly impact the security, performance, and usability of Unicast.ai’s DeFi platform.

This position offers the opportunity to work remotely with a distributed, international team and contribute to a cutting-edge DeFi infrastructure used by thousands globally.

Key Responsibilities

Smart Contract Development:
Design, write, and deploy secure, efficient smart contracts using Solidity. You will take ownership of contracts from initial design to mainnet deployment.
Decentralized Application Development:
Build full-stack dApps that interact with deployed contracts, utilizing Web3.js or ethers.js, along with modern front-end frameworks such as React.
Security and Testing:
Conduct comprehensive unit testing and security audits of smart contracts. Collaborate with external audit teams as needed to ensure the highest level of trust in the protocol.
System Integration:
Integrate blockchain functionality into existing systems and applications, ensuring compatibility, performance, and user experience.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define features and specifications for DeFi services.
Continuous Learning and Research:
Stay current with the latest Web3 trends, Ethereum proposals (EIPs), DeFi protocols, and cryptographic advances. Leverage this knowledge to enhance product performance and security.
Performance Optimization:
Identify bottlenecks, gas inefficiencies, or bugs in contract logic or protocol-level mechanisms and apply effective solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in blockchain or Web3 development.
Strong proficiency in Solidity and deep understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
Practical experience building and deploying smart contracts on testnet and mainnet.
Familiarity with Web3.js, ethers.js, and interaction patterns between front-end and blockchain layers.
Solid understanding of DeFi protocols, token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721), oracles, and layer 2 technologies.
Experience with React and modern front-end development practices.
Proficiency in back-end systems using Node.js, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
Knowledge of Git and common CI/CD practices.
Familiarity with blockchain testing tools such as Hardhat, Truffle, or Foundry.
A strong security mindset and awareness of common vulnerabilities (e.g., reentrancy, integer overflow).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a distributed team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience contributing to open-source blockchain projects.
Familiarity with cross-chain protocols or L2 solutions (e.g., Arbitrum, Optimism, zkRollups).
Exposure to AI/ML integration within decentralized applications.
Prior experience working in a DeFi startup or Web3-native environment.
Understanding of DAO governance models and tokenomics.
