Position Overview
The Accounts Executive will play a key role in managing the financial operations of the organization, including the preparation of financial statements, management of tax compliance, and coordination of audit activities. The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of accounting principles, demonstrate high attention to detail, and possess the ability to manage multiple financial tasks effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
As the Accounts Executive, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Financial Reporting
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with Sri Lankan Accounting Standards (SLFRS) or relevant international standards.
- Support the Finance Manager in developing monthly management reports for internal stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing the annual financial report, ensuring all reporting obligations are fulfilled in accordance with statutory and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor and review general ledger entries, journal vouchers, and adjustments to ensure completeness and accuracy.
2. Payment Processing
- Process vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and other operational expenses with accuracy and in accordance with internal controls.
- Ensure all payments are properly authorized and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Maintain a detailed schedule of payables and forecast upcoming liabilities to ensure sufficient cash flow.
3. Taxation and Compliance
- Calculate, file, and remit statutory taxes such as VAT, NBT, PAYE, and corporate income tax in a timely manner.
- Stay updated with changing tax laws and financial regulations to ensure full compliance.
- Work closely with the Finance Manager and external consultants to implement effective tax planning strategies.
4. Audit Coordination
- Liaise with external auditors during interim and final audits by providing requested documentation, schedules, and clarifications.
- Ensure all audit queries are responded to promptly and accurately.
- Maintain a high standard of financial transparency and documentation to support audit readiness throughout the year.
5. Financial Record Management
- Maintain well-organized, confidential, and accurate records of all financial transactions, invoices, and receipts.
- Assist with periodic reconciliations of bank accounts, payables, and receivables.
- Ensure all files are audit-compliant and easily accessible for internal or external review.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Partial completion or ongoing studies in professional accounting qualifications such as CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, or CIMA.
Technical Skills
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and tax regulations in Sri Lanka.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar systems).
- Ability to interpret financial data accurately and present clear summaries.
Soft Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal teams and external parties such as auditors and tax authorities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet multiple deadlines.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
