Job Overview
Zappy is looking for an Accounting & Bookkeeping Specialist to support our expanding portfolio of restaurant clients. In this role, you’ll handle both the day-to-day and the strategic sides of accounting—managing transactions, preparing reports, and helping clients understand their financial picture. If you’re familiar with the unique rhythm of restaurant finance and enjoy keeping things organized and optimized, we’d love to work with you.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices, expense categorization, and payment scheduling
- Maintain clean, organized general ledgers with a focus on restaurant-specific categories like food and labor costs
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and POS systems for accuracy and consistency
- Serve as the go-to contact for client and vendor financial inquiries, ensuring clear and professional communication
- Deliver timely financial reports, including P&L statements, cash flow summaries, and custom performance breakdowns
- Work with client and internal teams to improve bookkeeping systems and refine financial workflows
- Build long-term trust with restaurant owners and operations leaders by providing dependable, detail-oriented support
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- 2–3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally in hospitality or restaurant environments
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken
- Hands-on experience with tools like QuickBooks, Xero, and spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
- Sharp attention to detail and a proactive mindset
- Ability to handle multiple accounts and consistently meet deadlines
Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with restaurant cost tracking and operational KPIs
- Experience working in remote or virtual accounting teams
- Understanding of POS systems and how they integrate with financial software
