Position Overview
Oceans is seeking an experienced Accountant to support financial operations for a U.S.-based manufacturing investment group. The role involves full-cycle accounting, cross-entity financial reporting, and stakeholder support across multiple plants and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Reporting
- Manage month-end close processes for multiple entities, including preparation of P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Reconcile inventory (WIP and finished goods) and support gross margin reporting
- Assist with overhead allocations, absorption analysis, and cash planning
- Maintain short-term forecast schedules and lender-facing reports
Stakeholder & Plant Operations Support
- Serve as a financial resource to plant operations managers
- Investigate cost and performance variances and explain key financial metrics
- Support data integrity and help address process or system gaps
- Participate in regular operations calls to review reporting
System Navigation & Tools
- Work within QuickBooks Online and other platforms like Visual (Infor) and Evo
- Maintain live trackers and build reporting tools using Excel and Google Sheets
- Recommend improvements to workflows and financial documentation
General Accounting
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations (500–700 transactions/month)
- Assist with payroll processing and compliance-related tasks
- Prepare audit-ready packages and support lender information requests
Team Structure
Reports to the Finance Director and Chief of Staff of the client organization. Day-to-day work involves cross-functional collaboration with operations and finance teams. Additional support and oversight provided by Oceans’ Operations Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or multi-entity settings
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online; knowledge of Visual (Infor) or Evo is an asset
- Strong Excel/Sheets capabilities and analytical skills
- Understanding of inventory accounting and costing
- High attention to detail with ability to meet close deadlines
- Fluency in English with clear written and spoken communication
- Comfort working across ERP systems via remote desktop tools
Work Conditions
Remote with required split shifts. Initial in-person training required during the first 90 days. Compensation details provided during the offer process.
