We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Front Office Manager to join our team at our stunning beachfront resort in Ahungalla, Southern Province. Position Summary

As the Assistant Front Office Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the front office department. Your leadership will be instrumental in upholding RIU’s high standards of guest service, professionalism, and efficiency. Working closely with the Front Office Manager, you will supervise daily activities, coach team members, and serve as a key liaison for guests. Your mission is to enhance the guest journey from arrival to departure and support a culture of excellence and care.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily operations of the front office including reception, guest services, and concierge functions.
  • Assist the Front Office Manager in planning and executing front desk strategies aligned with company standards.
  • Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of check-in/check-out procedures, billing, reservations, and room allocations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth guest service flow, particularly with housekeeping and maintenance.

Guest Experience

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints.
  • Resolve issues in a timely and empathetic manner, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor guest feedback to identify areas for service improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Build strong relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits and positive reviews.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate front office staff to deliver consistently outstanding service.
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support career development.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.

Administrative Functions

  • Prepare and review front office reports, including occupancy, revenues, and guest satisfaction metrics.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of front office supplies.
  • Assist with departmental scheduling, ensuring coverage during peak periods.
  • Maintain compliance with hotel policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory role in front office operations within the hotel or resort industry.
  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in property management systems (e.g., Opera, Fidelio) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A customer-focused attitude with strong problem-solving abilities and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
