Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Executive – Production to join our production team based in the Gampaha District. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient operations aligned with production targets and company quality standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical knowledge, hands-on experience in food manufacturing or FMCG industries, and a proactive mindset. You will play a key role in daily production planning, resource management, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement daily and weekly production plans based on forecasting, target volumes, and stock availability.
  • Optimize the use of materials, labor, and equipment to ensure efficient production workflows.
  • Conduct daily production meetings with cross-functional teams to ensure raw material availability and identify operational bottlenecks.

2. Quality and Compliance

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and all internal quality assurance protocols.
  • Verify that all finished goods meet the company’s quality standards prior to handover.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of production batches and material usage.

3. Operations Coordination

  • Oversee the timely receipt of raw materials and manage inventory levels.
  • Liaise with maintenance teams to coordinate preventive and emergency equipment maintenance.
  • Generate detailed reports on production KPIs and submit regular performance updates to Management.

4. Team Supervision & Development

  • Supervise production staff, ensuring alignment with operational goals and company values.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
  • Lead initiatives to improve staff morale, minimize absenteeism, and enhance workplace discipline.

5. Process Improvement

  • Analyze operational inefficiencies and implement lean manufacturing principles where applicable.
  • Propose and lead projects to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall product quality.
  • Regularly review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure best practices are followed.

6. Health & Safety

  • Enforce adherence to workplace safety protocols and national occupational health regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate safety hazards.

7. Special Assignments

  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and any additional projects as assigned by Management.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to promote sustainability and long-term operational excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a food production, FMCG, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety compliance standards.

Preferred:

  • Higher National Diploma holders with at least 5 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma principles is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
